Peace continues to reign in our household between Mose and the animals. Hannah’s still a bit afraid of Mose, but Nettie is increasingly accepting of our new addition and gives drive-by kisses to Mose when he least expects them. Mose mostly takes this in stride and has gotten over his initial fear of touching Nettie. We had to work on “soft touches” and “gentle,” but Mose seems to be getting the idea. He’ll still grab some fur and skin in a moment of excitement, but not too badly. Thankfully Nettie’s shown tremendous restraint.
Frank has always been less patient and forgiving than the dogs, but even he’s been tolerant of Mose. Just the other day they had a momentary encounter that I thought might turn ugly, but it seems like they’re working it out on their own terms.
Lest you think Frank has gone soft, however, check out both his pugilistic abilities and his rough-and-tumble character in this video of him and Hannah.

maybe frank should go to iraq and get things under control.
Was that da-da I heard in the background while Frank was smacking Hannah around?

Until I saw the fight with Hannah, I was deeply suspicious that y’all had some ringer cat posing as Frank. I can only assume that Mose has special sweet nothings to whisper for Frank. Since that lying there socializing is NOT the Frank I have come to know and admire. Of course if lying around grabbing a compliant cat is on Mose’s to-do list, I’ve got a few totally soft cats to offer

Like, I think the Silver Surfer could have taken Hannah. But Frank could have beaten Superman, at least in his Siegel-Shuster incarnation.
From my creative friend Sue Bishop:
MOSE, in HAIKU
I touch his soft fur,
his nose; he pats me–oh joy!
we’re friends, now we play!
Stuff’s blocking my path,
so pull hard, Oof! tumble, Whee!
and roll out–Hooray!
It’s not Frank, won’t smile,
yet my size–maybe playmate?
So much still to learn.
